"I pranged a prop on my buddy's boat and needed to replace it - pronto. When I did a search for a Mercury 13 3/4 x 15 p prop, Schroon Lake Marina, ( with an ebay store as well ), came up. So far, no big deal.
I called and in simply describing the prop, Craig knew I was replacing a prop on a Mercury 60 HP "Big Foot" motor.
SLM was the only place I called that had the prop. Had LOTS of props.
What made this great was the following. Getting thirty miles back to the boat, I began to swap out the prop and found that Merc had changed the prop 'system' and the new one 'appeared' to be the right prop for the wrong shaft.
When I called SLM back, Craig walked me through the new changes, the updates Merc had added, and how the new parts worked. There was one part that was poorly diagrmaed in the OEM instructions. Another call back to SLM and Craig again took the trouble to step by step me through the assembly.
Thanks to SLM and their service manager, Craig, I was able to complete the task in good time and without headaches or possibly costly guesswork.
THAT is the difference between a store selling parts and a shop providing excellent customer service.
